We present results from an HST imaging survey of close kinematic pairs of galaxies at moderate redshift (0.1 < ~ z < ~ 0.55). The pair sample is being used for a detailed study of galaxy merger and interaction rates in that redshift range. The analysis and interpretation of the sample is complemented by a large low-redshift ground-based sample (z < ~ 0.1), which has already been established to contain interacting systems. In both samples, the pairs are nearly certain to be physically associated as a result of their proximity (projected separation < ~ 20 kpc) and their line-of-sight velocity difference (< ~ 500 km/s). We summarize the features of our HST I-band survey and the survey database, and we highlight recent results from our image analysis. In particular, we find that some of the pairs exhibit striking signs of interactions. We report here on detailed measurements of the structural parameters of galaxies in these pairs.
