We have obtained HST Planetary Camera images in the U,V, and I bands of ``super star clusters'' in 3 nearby, actively star-forming galaxies: NGC 1569, 1705, and M82. These young clusters are unusually compact and luminous, with M_V ~ -13 to -17, or 10--600 times the brightness of 30 Dor in the LMC. They evidently represent an extreme mode of star formation, perhaps related to globular cluster formation during protogalaxy collapse or mergers. The nuclear cluster of NGC 1705 appears slightly resolved but has FWHM < 0.15 arcsec, or 3 pc. The observed surface brightness is higher than ~ 10(6) L_{V, sun} pc(-2) . The two brightest clusters in NGC 1569 are resolved, with FWHM ~ 0.15 arcsec, or 3.4 pc. Both contain substructure, and the brightest exhibits an appreciable color gradient in the inner 1 arcsec. Region ``A'' in M82, which in the best ground-based images consists of 3 contiguous unresolved clusters, is resolved into over 20 subunits distributed throughout a 5 times 12 arcsec (80 times 180 pc) region. We present reconstructions of some of the images and estimates of the maximum surface brightnesses implied.
