Zeeman spectroscopic observations show that the helium variable HR 7129 has a longitudinal magnetic field that varies between the limits +7000 gauss and -5000 gauss in a period of 3.670 days. The spectrum and radial-velocity variations can be accounted for in terms of the oblique-dipole-rotator model, as can the conspicuous crossover effect that is also observed in this star. Since the temperature of HR 7129 is approximately 20,000 K, this object represents an extension to much higher temperatures of the phenomena that are observed in the classical magnetic Ap stars.
