Observational evidence for mass and angular momentum transfer from a companion that is now a white dwarf is presented for the nearby HR 4657 (F5V), a single-lined spectroscopic binary of the Milky Way's thick-disk population. With an orbital period of ~ 850 days the results support the possible importance of long period, low radial velocity amplitude binaries as a viable mechanism, among others, for the blue-straggler phenomenon.
