From intensive photometric observations of the early B stars HR 3562 and HR 3600, the authors show that they are both singly periodic variables. The multiple periods previously proposed are not confirmed and an explanation in terms of non-radial oscillations need not be invoked. The authors suggest that they be classified as ellipsoidal variables rather than 53 Per stars. One of the comparison stars, HR 3527, is an eclipsing binary.
