We carry out a numerical calculation of ultrahigh energy neutrino propagation through the Earth, taking into account the neutrino regeneration process in both neutral current and charged current neutrino interactions. The attenuation of neutrinos traversing the Earth (shadow effect) is determined, and the fluxes of ν-induced upward-going leptons (muon and tau) are obtained at the Earth’s surface and for two configurations of the neutrino flavor in the incident neutrino flux (νμ→ντ mixing). The implications of these results are discussed in the context of the possibility of detection of ν-induced leptons in the next round of fluorescent telescopes such as the AUGER detector.
