Chemo-dynamical models show that a hot halo phase is present in young galaxies, due to winds. The hot dilute gas is a strong X-rays source and can ionize condensations, produced by shocks. These condensations may be associated with the QSO absorbers. Lyman \alpha absorption systems have been analysed in this scenario, using photoionization models. Our results show that the temperature of the Lyman \alpha clouds are in aggreement with the temperature indicated by the absorption lines, and chemical abundances are undersolar, but not as low as indicated by models assuming low density clouds photoionized by the integrated background radiation.
