In 5 years of operation, the SNLS discovered more than 400 spectroscopically confirmed Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) at 0.1 < z< 1. A few percent of these supernovae have no apparent host. Were these supernovae the result of intergalactic stars tidally stripped from their hosts, or are there likely low surface brightness hosts present below the detection limits? We show that the lightcurve width distribution of these SNe is consistent with the majority being from a young stellar population, favoring the faint hosts hypothesis.
