The relationship between QSOs and their host galaxies is poorly understood despite years of imaging and spectroscopic studies. Ground based observations suffer from poor image quality or sampling, while HST observations require long exposure times to achieve high S/N on the low surface brightness regions. An imaging study is proposed for the WIYN telescope which capitalizes on its aperture and good image quality. A complete sample of low redshift QSOs will be imaged in two line-free bands to discern the relations between host galaxy luminosity, color, and morphological type and the (already known) spectroscopic properties of the nuclei. These relationships are interpretable in terms of physical parameters such as the depth of the potential well and the supply of gas, as well as the effects of the QSO on the evolution of the host galaxy.
