A galactic ring structure consisting of a gas with a frozen-in magnetic field is analyzed using an approximate model in the form of a flexible hose. The gas medium is assumed to be incompressible, with elasticity ascribed to the magnetic field. It is found that, in the absence of a gravitational field, hose instability does not arise in closed configurations. When the gravitational field of the galaxy is taken into account, the ring is stable with respect to plane oscillations over a wide range of the ring radius and unstable with respect to vertical oscillations at the periphery in spiral galaxies.
