During the period from 1982 to 1983, systematic photometric observations, in the UBVRJHKLMN system, and spectrophotometric ones, in the range of 0.33 to 0.75 μm with Δλ = 50Å, of V1016 Cyg and HM Sge were carried out. They have shown that no significant variations in the photometric behavior of HM Sge have taken place over the past two years. At the same time, the ratio of the fluxes in the Hα and Hβ lines as well as in the lines of [Ne III] 3869 and [O III] 5007 was found to decrease. The latter change must be due to the decreasing density in the circumstellar envelope of HM Sge. The observations of V1016 Cyg in the summer of 1983 indicate that the energy distribution pattern in the infrared range has changed drastically. No unusual variations in the visible brightness of V1016 Cyg were noticed. The observations of V1016 Cyg are indicative of an additional thick (τJ ≈ 1) dust envelope.
