A method for determining the helium content of G and K stars is presented and improving its results, using Hipparcos data, is discussed. Stars are located using the absolute spectral energy distribution of the stellar flux received on Earth. Internal stellar structure computations dispense with the age parameter, i.e., only zero age main sequence stars are considered. Heavy element content is derived from atmosphere analysis. Results suffer from lack of data, e.g., only 40 disk star trigonometric parallaxes with accuracy 5% are available. Dynamic masses, obtained from binary star orbital motions, using Hipparcos parallaxes, can be used to validate internal structure computations.
