A basic inequality derived by Chen (1979) for the general three-body
problem is used to study the Hill curves in the invariant plane of that
problem. The oscillation of these curves with the scale parameter rho is
discussed in detail. The results for the oscillations are illustrated
for the case of three equal masses.
