The HESS Galactic Plane survey, supplemented with targeted observations, has detected more than two dozen Galactic sources of TeV gamma-rays. We use the VLA 20cm MAGPIS survey of the Galactic plane in conjunction with MSX 21um and Spitzer GLIMPSE data to examine the vicinities of these TeV sources. We find that many of the supernova remnants detected by HESS are found in close association with HII regions, whereas other radio-bright remnants not detected by HESS lie far from the nearest HII region. We evaluate the UV through IR photon fields in the vicinity of TeV-emitting remnants in order to determine whether they are sufficient to power the observed high energy emission through Compton upscattering off relativistic electrons in the remnants.
