We request a single track to continue monitoring the microwave cycle of the famous southern star eta Carinae at wavelengths of 3 and 6 cm. This binary system has an orbital period of 5.5 years, and the radio emission is dramatically modulated on this timescale. The radio emission comes predominantly from ionized gas in the inner few arcseconds of the system, although the larger nebula can also be seen. The radio cycle shows considerable hysteresis that reflects changes in the UV output or other physical properties of the stars. As predicted last year, in 2006 eta Car reached an all--time maximum measured flux at X band.
