Narrow peaks in the energy spectra in inner radiation belt electrons are found that correspond to a nearly constant longitude drift period over a broad range of L shells. With the high sensitivity associated with a fine energy resolution it is possible to observe such peaks frequently at the lower L shell edge of the inner radiation zone and in some cases to follow them all the way across the inner belt. The peaks often extend from L values of approximately 1.2 to 1.4 but occasionally up to 2.2. For observation of peaks with weakly L-dependent central energies, the very low L shell region below approximately 1.2 is perhaps of greatest interest because here the trapping lifetimes are sufficiently short to provide repeatedly a clean 'slate' for observing fresh injections. Hence, with a lower 'background' the peaks are often the most pronounced at L less than or equal to 1.2.
