Two hydrogen-alpha telescopes were flown as part of the solar astronomy instruments on Skylab. These telescopes provided high resolution video imagery to the crew for both solar surveillance and the pointing of the entire instrument cluster. A film camera on one telescope provided photographs for a postmission pointing record. This paper details the design of the telescopes and their operating characteristics and presents an evaluation of their performance during the mission.
