A region surrounding the main spiral arm southwest of the nucleus of M31 has been observed with VLA and Effelsberg radio telescopes and 20.1 and 6.3 cm wavelengths, respectively. The model of a basic axisymmetric nearly toroidal field in M31 is supported by the observed rotation measures and intrinsic magnetic field orientations. The observation of periodic deviations from the basic axisymmetric field suggest a three-dimensional arc-like field structure.
