The High Resolution Mirror Assembly (HRMA) of the Advanced X-ray Astrophysics Facility (AXAF) is complete and has been tested at the X-ray Calibration Facility (XRCF) of the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. The preliminary analysis of the data show that the mirror performance is about that predicted from measurements taken during its fabrication and assembly. We expectarc second resolution on orbit, with most of the point source image contained within an arc second image diameter. More quantitative information will be given during the meeting. This superior imaging performance together with improved detectors and accurate calibration will enable sensitive and detailed studies of many interesting systems, including nearby galaxies, active galactic nuclei, and distant galaxy clusters. Examples of expected results will be presented.
