Shuttle Mission STS-41G carried the Large Format Camera with its stellar Attitude Reference System, and the Shuttle Imaging Radar. Exceptional photographs which should permit compilation of 1:50,000 scale image and topographic maps were obtained. The photographs will be made available through the United States Geological Survey EORS data center. The radar, though plagued with operational problems, also produced images useful for Earth science and development of radar mapping procedures.
