The present 6- and 18-cm wavelength radio maps of 3C205 reveal the presence of a very compact hotspot in the source's southern lobe, as well as a very high degree of alignment between the hotspots and the radio core. The southern lobe has a complex morphology suggestive of the outflow of material from the compact feature. These results are discussed in the context of both a beam model and a plasma cloud-type model, leading to constraints that are different in each case. In the beam model, very high efficiency is needed for jet energy's conversion to relativistic particle and magnetic field energy. The cloud model suggests that the hotspot is probably located at the stagnation point in the bow shock flow around the cloud, allowing limits to be set on external medium inhomogeneity and fluctuating ejection direction timescale. In either model, the compact hotspot outflow hypothesis entails very dense material in the hotspot's vicinity.
