In order to improve the MTF of X-ray image intensifiers the authors have studied a new type of input phosphor screen. The input phosphor screen is made up of cesium iodide (CsI) columns that contains the ingredient that absorbs light. The ingredient reduces light dispersion in the input phosphor screen. It can make the MTF higher. The MTF characteristics of this image intensifier is higher than that of the conventional image intensifiers.
