The center of an infrared cirrus cloud at (l,b) = (127 deg, 20 deg) was observed in the 1(10)-1(11) 4.8 GHz transition of formaldehyde and in the J = 1 to 0 transitions of CO-12 and CO-13 at 115 GHz and 110 GHz. The total extent of the cloud was mapped in the 21 cm line of atomic hydrogen. The amount of molecular hydrogen present is estimated from the 100-micron dust emission and the H I column density. Consistent with molecular line observations, this determination shows that most of the cloud consists of atomic hydrogen. The molecular clump at the center is not well shielded from the interstellar radiation field, and is not gravitationally bound. Since the cloud is part of an expanding loop, it is proposed that a shock has passed through the cloud and has produced short-lived filaments and clumps with high molecular abundances.
