Two absorption systems with H I column densities of order 5×1020 cm-2 are present in the spectrum of the quasar 2206-199N. One shows the usual strong heavy element absorption lines, and so is consistent with having normal to 1/10 solar abundances. In the other the heavy element lines are remarkably weak, and the abundances could be less than 1/100 solar.
