Observations performed with the 1-m telescope on Mt. Maidanak show that the nucleus of NGC 1275 is 0.7 arcsec in size and extends in the NW-SE direction. Along this elongation the nucleus has two sets of jets, whose position angles (340 and 320 deg) coincide with those of the radio jet and a system of high-velocity gas clumps. In addition, the radio nucleus is found to be shifted by 0.3 arcsec to the S-E with respect to the optical nucleus.
