Approximately 25% of the optical extragalactic sky is obscured by dust in our own Galaxy, hampering studies of large scale structure. Although diligent optical and infrared searches succeed in narrowing this "Zone of Avoidance" (ZOA), in the most heavily obscured regions near the Galactic plane only radio surveys consistently reveal hidden galaxies. A 21-cm blind survey of the northern ZOA (30 deg < l < 220 deg; |b| < 5.25 deg) has been conducted using the Dwingeloo 25-m radiotelescope and the Westerbork array in total power mode searching for HI luminous galaxies in the velocity range 0-4000 km/s. Regions covered by the survey include the Supergalactic plane (SGP) crossing region, the Local Void, and the nearby IC342/Maffei group. Detections include several members of the IC342/Maffei group, 11 sources in the SGP crossing region and 3 dwarf galaxies in the vicinity of NGC 6946, signifying a possible new nearby group. A statistical analysis of the survey sample will be presented and the relation of detected galaxies to known large scale structures will be discussed.
