Herbig-Haro Objects, Orion Nebula, Photographs, Stellar Winds
Scientific paper
The motions and densities in four ionized knots within the core of the Orion Nebula (M 42) have been observed. Evidence is presented which suggests that all these objects are Herbig-Haro objects produced by energetic stellar winds from obscured stars. Also a model is developed in which the ionized material is flowing tangentially to the surface of the cavity produced by these winds.
