The ratio R between Horizontal Branch stars and Red Giant stars has been used to estimate the helium abundance (Y) in Galactic Globular Clusters. From available number counts of the two kinds of stars one hopes to derive some evidence for a variation of Y according to the overall metallicity of the cluster. The effect of probable observational errors is discussed.
It is suggested that Y may be correlated with the second evolutionary parameter required to explain some "peculiar" Globular Clusters.
