The TIROS-NOAA particle data base is used here to estimate the statistical pattern of height-integrated Pedersen and Hall conductivities as a function of auroral activity. The maps are created by binning the data in an invariant magnetic ordinate system and by the level of the estimated hemispherical power input of the particles. The height-integrated Pedersen conductivity patterns display an orderly progression in latitudinal extent, the location of the equatorward boundary of the particle-induced conductivity, and the magnitude of the conductivities as the level of activity increases. The Hall conductance exhibits a more 'noisy' response in certain magnetic local time sectors, particularly in the evening and around magnetic midnight. The ratio of Hall to Pedersen conductivity generally lies in the range 1.0-1.6.
