The development of a Bimodal Solar Power and Propulsion System capable of injecting a SV from an intermediate orbit to a geostationary one calls for an assessment of energy balance, of conditions for the SPPS coming up to the operating mode, and of temperature conditions during the injection to an orbit required. The paper considers thermal conditions of the SPPS generating capacity of which amounts to 4 kW, with 250 kg and 400 kg mass of heat accumulators during the injection into an operational orbit. Thermal conditions in the Earth's shadow when the SPPS is in the ecliptic plane are considered. A mathematical SPPS model and main results obtained are presented.
