Moderate-resolution (150-300 km s(-1) ) spectra covering the Hβ + [O III] lambda 5007 spectral region were obtained for 41 radio-loud quasars (z <= 0.9) in order to investigate relationships between their broad and narrow line profiles, radio structures, and X-ray properties. The spectra of radio-loud PG quasars observed by Boroson & Green (1992) and high-resolution spectra of Jackson & Browne (1991) have been added to form a sample of 60 radio-loud objects with similar numbers of core- and lobe-dominated quasars. Principal component analyses have been performed. Three main effects are present: {A number of Hβ profile parameters are correlated with the core dominance, a measure of orientation in the relativistic beaming model. A very broad (9000 km/s), redshifted component is strong in lobe-dominant sources (edge-on) and weak in core-dominant sources (face-on).} {The second most significant source of variation in the Hβ profile involves the variation of an intermediate width (2000 km/s) component with a small redshift. The strength of this component is correlated with the strength of [O III] lambda 5007.} {The third effect depends on optical luminosity. As luminosity increases, alpha_ {ox} increases, [O III] lambda 5007 line width increases, and EW(Hβ ) and EW([O III]) decrease (a Baldwin effect).} Contrary to some published results, two significant non-correlations are noted: between FWHM_{Hβ } and FWHM5007, and between the asymmetry of [O III] lambda 5007 and the core dominance.
