Hourly cosmic-ray data, obtained with underground vertical muon telescopes at Embudo during the period 1973-79, are analyzed. Harmonic and spectral (FFT) analyses are employed to obtain the amplitudes and phases for the solar diurnal variation. A comparison of the results is presented. A better agreement is obtained if the FFT results are corrected for 'leakage'. Relative merits of the methods are discussed.
