The source GRS 1758-258, lying 40 arcmin away from GX 5-1 was first detected by the two instruments ART-P and SIGMA on board the GRANAT satellite. The source then was throught to be responsible for the hard X-ray flux previously ascribed to the bright quasi-periodic source GX 5-1. These two sources were within the 1.9-deg field of view of the POKER instrument during an extended observation of the Galactic center region on May 17, 1989. The POKER instrument, consisting of 3 multiwire proportional counters of geometric area 8000 sq cm, collected data from the sources for 1300 s. The spectral behavior of the high energy source is discussed and comparison is made with previous data reported by TTM, Spacelab 2 and GRANAT.
