We executed ASCA observations in 18 fields of dark clouds to prove protostars. As a result, we detected 30% of the protostar candidates with S/N > 5 level in the 2--10 keV band, which include the youngest phase of protostars, i.e. Class 0 objects. From the X-ray detected protostars, we have obtained evidence for magnetic origin for both the quiescent X-rays and flares from low-mass protostars. On the other hand, we also detected intense hard X-rays from ``proto-Herbig Ae/Be star'' EC95. We will discuss the difference between the X-rays from low-mass protostar and intermideate-mass protostar, briefly.
