We present monitoring of equal-mass, active mid-M dwarf wide binaries using the mid-resolution optical spectrograph on the Astrophysical Research Consortium 3.5-m telescope. We selected our sample for spectroscopic follow-up from the Sloan Low-mass Wide Pairs of Kinematically Equivalent Stars (SLoWPoKES) catalog. Our goal is to examine the differences in activity level, as measured by the equivalent width of Hα, of stars of similar masses, metallicities, and ages. We will compare both the mean and the normalized variability of Hα between the companions of each of our wide binary pairs. Additionally, we will examine the variation in molecular bands, such as the temperature-sensitive TiO feature, over time.
