A search for 22 GHz water vapor emission in southern hemisphere galactic continuum sources has been conducted in regions situated from galactic longitude 240-290 deg and 334-350 deg, considering surveys of H II regions and of Type I OH sources. The 18 water masers discovered up to now in these longitude ranges are considered, along with radial velocity with respect to the LSR, antenna temperature of the main feature, brightness temperature of the associated continuum peak at 2.7 GHz, and its association or not with Type OH masers. New H2O/OH sources are also discussed in detail. The distribution of the continuum peaks and water masers is presented as a function of the brightness temperature at 2.7 GHz; there is evidence that all the strongest peaks (Tb greater than 50) are associated with water masers, and the weakest regions (Tb less than 1K) have no masers associated.
