This Letter presents spin temperatures of neutral atomic hydrogen clouds in the vicinity of 30 Doradus in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). Using emission and absorption spectra obtained by combining the Australia Telescope Compact Array and the Parkes Telescope, we have minimized errors due to beam blending. We have developed a new technique to disentangle blending of emission components in the velocity domain. The results show much cooler temperatures for the diffuse interstellar clouds than obtained with other techniques: typical values are 30-40 K. Whether or not H I clouds in the LMC are actually cooler than the ones in our Galaxy or other galaxies cannot be concluded from the data currently available.
