Radio telescope measurements of H I absorption of pulsar radiation and the calculated distances of nine pulsars (PSRs 0138, 0355, 0540, 1642, 1826, 1946, 2020, 2111, and 2319) are presented. The methods for measuring the H I absorptions and electron densities are described, and the results for each pulsar are reported. Distances are found to vary from less than 170 pc for PSR 1642 to greater than 8.5 kpc for PSR 1946, and electron densities are found to range from 0.012 per cu cm to 0.2 cu cm with a considerable scatter due to intervening H II regions. Ways to improve the accuracy of distance measurements are discussed.
