The authors have carried out H I absorption observations of three radio sources in the galactic plane that vary on time scales of a few days. The absorption spectra of all three sources contain components corresponding to the full range of H I emission velocities. Although the authors cannot strictly rule out a galactic origin, their results strongly suggest that these objects are rapidly variable extragalactic radio sources. One source, GT2100+468, is among the most highly variable of known extragalactic radio sources.
