Observations of the RS CVn stars HR 1099, UX Ari, HD 224085, AR Lac, and SZ Psc have been carried out with a CCD detector at KPNO to study the variability of the Hα line. The Hα equivalent width in HR 1099 is shown to undergo a modulation over the orbital period of this spectroscopic binary with the modulation being in antiphase with the photometric distortion wave of the system. Profile and/or intensity variations of Ha with time scales of a few days are also demonstrated for the other systems studied here.
