The appearance and disappearance of transient spectral features in the He I line lambda(6678) in the Be star lambda Eri is well established. According to one suggestion these transients arise in a local concentration of matter above the stellar photosphere. In this paper a highly simplified model for the localized region is chosen, and the resultant H-alpha profile from the stellar photosphere and the localized region is obtained for a variety of parameters chosen to span the range of these parameters inferred from analysis of the He I lambda(6678) line. For all the cases investigated the additional H-alpha emission and/or absorption is too weak to be detected easily with present techniques.
