Ariane, a European Satellite Launch vehicle, will be controlled by a small on-board digital computer with navigation data from an inertial platform. This paper describes the computer program to be used, in particular the guidance law, and the reasons for choosing that form of guidance. The methods of testing the program are described, and a typical trajectory is given.
