We present the most relevant technical aspects of the 50m aperture millimetric wave antenna denominated LMT/GTM to be erected in Cerro La Negra, Puebla, Mexico. The site selection criteria are discussed as well as the first light instrumentation. Including both continuum and line heterodyne receiver arrays. In particular we present a comparison between LMT/GTM and other existing facilities when mapping continuum radiation in the millimeter wave range.
