The joint effort between Eveready Battery Company and the Environmental Protection Agency illustrates how cooperation and partnership can lead to significant improvements for the environment. Studies performed in the US, Japan and the United Kingdom regarding the potential hazard of the disposal of mercury-laden household batteries eventually has led to the significant reduction in the use of mercury.
