N-body simulations of a cold dark matter universe have been used to study the effects of peculiar velocities on the shape of galaxy-galaxy and cluster-galaxy correlation functions measured in redshift space. It is suggested that anistropies in the galaxy-galaxy correlation function which arise from radial infall between galaxy pairs should be observable in current redshift surveys, but that radial infall into rich clusters may be masked by random motions. Results for the average direction of the galaxy-galaxy correlation function are consistent with the linear theory model of Kaiser (1986).
