The seismic response of the earth to secondary gravitational radiation emitted from a scalar field according to the scalar-tensor theory of gravitation is investigated. Cases are considered in which this secondary radiation and the response to it are comparable with or exceed the corresponding value for primary gravitational radiation in the general theory of relativity. It is shown that the angular dependence and polarization of the earth's seismic response to secondary gravitational radiation are substantially different from similar properties of the response to primary radiation.
