Calculations are made of the polarization arising in massive bodies under the effect of a gravitational field and of magnetic fields generated during the rotation of these bodies. Positive space charge and negative surface charge are shown to arise under the effect of the gravitational fields. It is noted that an appreciable part of the magnetic fields of planets and stars may be due to these effects.
