The problem of gravitational instability of an infinite homogeneous self-gravitating medium in the presence of a variable horizontal magnetic field varying in vertical direction has been considered to include, separately, the effects due to rotation and collisions between ionized and neutral components. The dispersion relations have been obtained. It has been found that the Jeans's criterion for instability remains unaffected even if the effects due to rotation and collisions are considered in the presence of a variable horizontal magnetic field.
