A gradient-time procedure has been developed which is based on the comparison of the digital sonograms of signals recorded simultaneously at two stations close to each other. This procedure, relying on the resonance theory of midlatitude pulsations, can be used to determine the local Alfven frequency of a line of force with a time resolution of the order of several minutes. Results from the application of the proposed approach to the analysis of Pc3 pulsations are presented.
