The paper investigates the manner in which the hardening of tight binary stars that have survived in a globular cluster from the time it was formed will influence the evolution of the cluster if allowance is made for the limited heating capability of the binaries. The analysis indicates that the evolution will be intermediate between purely evaporative evolution and evolution of a cluster heated by primordial tight binaries. During the final stages in the evolution, most heating will not be caused by primordial tight binaries, but by those which have developed subsequently.
